Princeton Meadow Preschool offers a Kindergarten Extension Program for children attending half-day kindergarten. The program runs Monday through Friday following the West Windsor-Plainsboro District calendar. We have programs in both the morning and afternoon, and midday busing is available in the West Windsor-Plainsboro District.
The goals of our program are to support and enrich our students' kindergarten through a fun and multi-sensory approach to learning. Building self-esteem and a love of learning are a central focus of our program, as these traits provide a firm foundation throughout a child's education. We emphasize balance in the variety of activities we plan.
Our morning Kindergarten Extension Program begins at 8:45 and ends at 12:00, or when the bus arrives to transport the children to kindergarten. Our afternoon class begins at approximately 11:45, or when the bus from kindergarten drops the students off. The day ends at 3:15. After school care is available until 6:30. Details can be found at www.hubforlearning.com. All students will have lunch and recess here at Princeton Meadow. Students are required to bring their own peanut/nut-free lunch daily. We will supply a snack in both the morning and afternoon classes.
A typical day in Kindergarten Extension will include:
Large, group, small group and individual activities
Language arts instruction and activities
S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) instruction and hands-on activities
Team-building activities and projects
Special subjects: art, music, physical education
Our class size allows for individualized attention with our maximum class size of 16 students with two teachers.
