Princeton Meadow Preschool offers many events throughout the year. These are designed to bring our wonderful families together as a community and to share in the children’s school experiences. Past events have included:
Fall
Meet the Teacher Open House/Parent Orientation This event is designed to alleviate some of the stress that can come with the first day of school. Parents come to school with their children between designated hours to meet the teachers and explore the classrooms. Parent Orientation will be held on the first day of school after all of the students are in their designated classrooms.
Field Trip to the Farm In the past our 2 ½ and 3-year-olds have visited Lee Turkey Farm and our 4-year-olds have visited Windsor Farm. Picking a pumpkin is an exciting part of this trip!
Costume Parade A fun event on Halloween as our students parade and show off their costumes!
Thanksgiving Feast Each year all of our families come together to give thanks for our many blessings and share in a delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal. The children also perform a few songs.
Winter
Field Trip to Kelsey Theater In the past we have seen The Nutcracker or The Night Before Christmas. These are delightful live-theater experiences geared especially toward children.
Story of the First Christmas with Pastor Ken Smith (students only) All our students gather to hear the Story of the First Christmas as told by Pastor Smith, followed by cookies and milk.
Christmas Sing-a Long Our students perform Christmas songs for all to enjoy, with a special performance about the First Christmas by our 4-year-olds. Refreshments follow the performance.
International Day Celebrating diversity is important to us at Princeton Meadow Preschool. We kick off International Day with a Parade of Flags representing the heritage of each student. We then come together for a delicious feast allowing us to sample the finest international cuisine! Each family brings a dish representing their culture to share.
Spring
Special Person’s Day Each child will have the opportunity to bring a special (adult) person to school with them to share a typical preschool day.
Spring Field Trips Previous trips have included our 2 ½ and 3-year-olds going on a tour of Whole Foods, and our 4-year-old visiting the Plainsboro Preserve.
Easter Egg Hunts Parents and teachers work together to create Easter Egg Hunts for each class
School Picnic We end the year with an all-school family picnic. We supply the food, you supply the fun!
Graduation We celebrate our 4-year-old class moving on to Kindergarten with a graduation ceremony which is followed by an ice cream social.
